For Immediate Release September 18, 1996 NEWS RELEASE FOR MORE INFORMATION: Doug Wynn, Sales Manager 310-618-8616 Taka Nakayama, Vice President 310-618-8616 ALINCO INTRODUCES EDX-2 AUTOMATIC ANTENNA TUNER TORRANCE, CA -- Alinco Electronics has announced the addition of an Automatic Antenna Tuner, Model EDX-2, to its line of Amateur Radio equipment. The EDX-2 is designed to provide a quick match between antenna and transceiver. The EDX-2 has the ability to match a length of antenna from 8 to 80 feet, on Amateur Radio bands from 10 to 160 meters.

A minimum antenna length of 40 feet is required for 160 meter operation. Intended to be mounted at the feed point of the antenna, the EDX-2 is enclosed in a weather-resistant case. It is suitable for use in mobile, base and marine operating environments and can be operated in a horizontal or vertical position. The EDX-2 Antenna Tuner unit comes equipped with a control cable interface designed to plug directly into the Alinco DX-70 HF radio but the unit can be adapted for use with HF radios made by other manufacturers.

EDX-2 Automatic Random Wire Antenna Tuner for USE exclusively with ALINCO DX-70T, DX-70TH, DX-77EQ, DX--77T, DX-701 and DX-707 Specifications.

'The EDX-2 has been manufactured and introduced in response to the requests of our customers,' said Taka Nakayama, Vice President of Alinco Electronics. 'We are proud to add the unit to our product line and we?re sure the Amateur Radio community will find it to be a strong performer.' Doug Wynn, Alinco's Sales Manager added, ' The EDX-2 is the answer for hams who want to operate mobile or from base units that have restricted antenna space. Download Jogos Ps2 Iso Parte Unica. The price of this unit also continues the Alinco tradition of offering superior value.' The MSRP of the EDX-2 is $344. The so-called 'street price' of the unit could be lower, as Amateur Radio dealers often discount from the MSRP.

The EDX-2 augments Alinco's antenna tuner line. The EDX-1, a fully manual tuning unit has been available for some time, but input from hams who have communicated with Alinco indicated the desire for a fully automatic unit. Wynn said this is reflective of the many hams who are operating on HF frequencies from mobile platforms, where manual tuner operation is not practical.

Alinco?s DX-70 HF radio is designed for base or mobile use and has proven quite popular due to its ease of operation, features and price. 'We believe the EDX-2 will be a great?companion purchase? With the DX-70,' he said. Technically, the EDX-2 uses computer logic circuits to quickly operate a network of capacitors and inductors to find the combination that presents the lowest possible SWR to the radio. The ability to use many combinations allows the owner to use a random length of wire for an antenna.
