Bit of a bump but I came across this topic while searching for a solution to the same problem. I found a solution after looking up my camera in mac cam's database: It mentions that there are drivers on this site: and if you download the ZC0301PL driver and force it to install (Device Manager, Update Driver. Probably a way of modifying the ini file to make it auto-install but I can't remember the trick to do it. The 'add legacy hardware' wizard is a failsafe whose intention is to allow arbitrary device software to be added even if the device isn't allowing for new drivers.
When I try to update the driver in the regular way as you suggest, Windows simply says that no drivers for my device have been found (with all four driver packages). The fact that the drivers don't work with either method, along with the fact that the camera works in linux, suggests that it's a driver problem and not a hardware problem. About a year ago I used the original VMICRO driver and installed it to my Win 7 64 bit system completely unaltered. Last week I install the Windows XP mode and virtual PC and the driver was no longer recognized and could not be reinstalled. I changed the 3 lines in the *inf file as prescribed above by mschubert and the driver reinstalled with no problems. The cam is back up and running.

Didn't work and only got a blank image.
Tried your files with the different VID/PID and even the Vimicro original inf and neither worked. I'd appreciate if someone with more knowledge and skills could identify why this solution isn't working for me.
There are 2 different hardware versions of this camera, ID 401 and ID 403a Apparently only the 403a version is compatible with the Vimicro Products driver, sorry! If you have a hardware revision 401 then the only way you can get it working is with the original Creative driver for Windows XP, running in Virtualization with the method Adam M MCP linked to. I just picked up a used Logitec camera from Goodwill for $8 that is Win 7/8 compatible and is the same resolution as the NX so really, at some point the argument that it's not economically justifyable to support these things holds some water. Thanks for saving me a bunch of time:-) I was trying to use the Vimicro driver and got it installed (after modifying the.inf file) but the device itself just didn't work. Based on what the Device Manager reports for the device, I guess I have the 401 so I'm out of luck. I figured I'd should share one bit of info I learned for people who do have the 403 and are trying to install the driver on Windows 10, which became more 'aggressive' about not wanting to install unsigned drivers (you can't just click 'Yeah, go ahead and install it anyway' now): Check out http://www.technipages.com/enable-disable-device-driver-signing. (Windows 10 - 64Bit) Hi Gimdfwl take a look here that will show you what to do, you might need to write it down / print it off as you wont be able to follow all steps as machine reboots part way through the 10 steps Works just fine, if u have the right drivers 401 use the one you have linked to or 403 use VIMIRCO so i have been told.
